How the calculation works
Balance ÷ credit limit × 100 = utilisation percentage. With several cards, all balances and all limits are added together first.
For example, £500 used from a £2,000 limit is 25%. The bar stops at 100%, but the result shows the full percentage if balances exceed your limit.
What the result does not tell you
It doesn’t estimate your credit score or predict whether a lender will accept you. The balance on your report can differ from today’s, because lenders update agencies on their own schedules.
