Three main agencies, separate files

The three main UK consumer credit reference agencies are Experian, Equifax and TransUnion. They collect credit information and make it available to organisations with an appropriate reason to access it.

They do not decide whether a lender accepts your application. Each lender makes its own decision.

Why one report is not the whole picture

Not every lender shares information with every agency. Reporting schedules and identity matching can also differ. An account visible on one report may not appear on another.

ClearScore and Credit Karma are services that display agency information; they are not additional UK credit reference agencies.

You can request your own information

Each agency offers access to a free statutory credit report. This is different from a paid monitoring subscription and may not include a consumer credit score.

Identity verification may be required by the agency. This website does not request documents or retrieve credit reports.
